About UCM

The United Committee Manipur (UCM) was established on 3rd of July 2001. It is the outcome of the unprecedented ceasefire agreement declaration between the proscribed NSCN (IM) and Government of India. After the fateful incident of the Great June Uprising on 18 June 2001 where 18 innocent lives were lost during the protest against the extension of the cease fire inside the territory of Manipur, various Civil Society Organizations (CSO) of the state joined hands to form an apex umbrella organization to defend the territorial integrity of Manipur.

Prominent CSOs like ACOAM LUP, AMKIL, IPSA, KANGLAMEI, NIPCO, PANDM & UPF constitutes the organization representing the people of Manipur. The objective of the organization is to defend the Integrity of Manipur socially, culturally, economically and politically. UCM being the most trusted and reliable performing CSO of the state, the organization has been relentlessly serving across the length and breadth of the state striving for an egalitarian society under the motto of Peace, Unity & Integrity.

Let Manipur Live and Grow Together and no policy or forces should never attempt to disintegrate the Idea of Manipur.
